The Right of Public Access to Legal Information website was developed on Friday, 3 April 2015. It aims to provide legal resources on various aspects of the right of public access to legal information, which include recent developments in this emerging area of law. Emphasis is placed on scholarly publications on the right of public access to legal information, especially seminal articles that provide new insights and propose innovative solutions to the contemporary problems of access to the legal materials produced by governments and intergovernmental organisations (IGOs). These legal materials include primary legislation (statute law); secondary legislation made pursuant to enacted laws (subsidiary legislation or regulations); judicial decisions of all courts and tribunals; administrative rules, orders, and directives); legislative documents (bills, debates, etc.); official law-related documents (e.g. public-funded reports and research); international and regional legal instruments (treaties, conventions, and declarations); and the decisions of international and regional intergovernmental organisations).
